Using "world-writable" (777 or 666) permissions

You do not need to use world-writable (777 or 666) permissions on our servers.

Permissions such as 775 for directories and 664 for files are sufficient for all applications. Our servers run scripts under your account username rather than under the web server user, so files and directories do not need world-writable access.
